Tina White is from Loudoun County, Virginia and majors in Industrial Design. Tina will graduate this Spring of 2024!
I don’t have a brand. I just enjoy getting creative and sewing as a hobby. I enjoy doing makeup as well and do have an Instagram for my work. @funkytinamakeup
I am designing one outfit for VDR this year. I wanted to bring a transformative piece to be able to bloom throughout the show and help show my journey as a designer. I chose more neutral colors of fabrics for the cloak I am designing the pants as well. The pants are going to be white with pleats and minimal color. The cloak/transformative hoodie will be made out of a fuzzy black fabric and will be lined with an inner silver reflective fabric. The hoodie will be held with magnets engulfing my model's head until he pulls them apart revealing bursts of reflectivity, colors, and textures. I want to add as much of my personality and aesthetic into the transformation as possible all while staying in line with the theme presented.
I usually draw a lot of inspiration from fellow creatives around me at Virginia Tech. Especially my designer friends in Industrial Design with me. I do tend to enjoy more styles from 60’s-70’s in my own personal fashion sense and designer style. I did want to branch out this year more out of my comfort zone and try to reach a more futuristic design..
I also helped out with the design and direction of makeup for the show. More of that work will be posted soon.
