The bloom dress is created using a mix of viscose, polyamide, and elastane for its base. This mixture creates a canvas looking base with that pairs well with the use of acrylic paint for its hand painted detailed designs. The dress hugs the wearer’s body in a way that both accentuates yet molds to the body with time making its wearer a living art piece.
The bloom jacket and pans depicts a mural on the back of flowers blooming in the raindrops of spring. A hidden picture of a golden young girl with her face tilted to the sky and flowers in her hair decorated the back of the dress in a way that only the most keen of eyes can perceive. Amoung the girl hidden in the back of the jacket there are several other images hidden behind her for a peice that consistently gives its wearer new surprises the longer they look at it. Created from the recycled materials of old raincoats and stuffed with a thick padding, this puffer was not only sustainably made but transformed into a thick and heavily lined jacket that will keep anyone of any gender comfortable and warm as winter’s coldest days draw in. Paired with thrifted pants that are hand died to make the wearer look like they are jumping in puddles on a rainy day, this outfit is more than clothing, it is art.
My lack of inspiration is what made both of these outfits so unique. I didn’t base either of these designs off of anything. I just started painting and sewing and ended up here. I didn’t want my clothes to look like anything anyone else could find. I wanted my clothing to be unique to my vision so I just painted, upside down, right side up, inside, outside, on a train, in the rain, in the car, and anywhere I had time. Sometimes, confusion is the birthplace of beauty.
