This design was built around a bag of old leather gloves I found at a thrift store. I was messing around with placement and thought it would be cool to make a top piece out of it. The top gave me a vintage feel, so I thought it would pair well with lace.
I knew I wanted to mix the structure of regular pants and a corset with something lightweight and with movement. I loved the idea of a sheer flared blouse to add a little femininity and wanted to incorporate the same material into his pants for more cohesion.
Fit 3 (Bella): This outfit features voluminous and dramatic sleeves giving movement and volume to a regular suit jacket. This same technique is also used to detail the pants, giving the two pieces greater cohesion. Combining a relaxed and boxy silhouette, voluminous sleeves, and intricate design, I wanted to create something both bold and refined.
A lot of my inspiration comes from the most renowned fashion archives (Pinterest). I like to play around with shapes, textures, lines, and detail to make pieces I think look cool.
I don't know if I really have a personal design style, but I tend to create more 'casual' clothing that is both elaborate and extravagant. I love using a variety of unconventional materials, shapes, and structures.
