Karlee Angel is from Richmond, Virginia. She is majoring in Fashion Merchandising and Design and Minoring in Entrepreneurship. Karlee is graduating in May 2025.
My brand name is KarleeKollection. I also started a club here at Virginia Tech called HokieDesigners.
My design is made from taffeta and satin. The flowers on the skirt are all hand-sewed together. I used a cage under the flowers to give a unique silhouette to my model. I chose a simple corset as the top to give the flowers more of a dramatic look.
I draw my inspiration from everything! Recently my inspirations have been my favorite designers Daniel Rosberry and Sarah Burton. I also gain a lot of inspiration from nature and traveling. Last summer, I went abroad and got to see a lot of famous collections in person. My favorite one "Roses" by Alexander McQueen gave me a lot of inspiration for this design.
